This painting is a portrait of my Mom, who loves to shop more than just about any other activity... with the possible exception of eating hot fudge sundaes.

The setting is the beautiful and pristine beach in Manzanita, on the Oregon Coast. The beach is miles long and often deserted. The beach ends where the Nehelam River flows into the ocean. The breakwater there provides great surfing for sea lions. Behind the dunes is Nehalem Bay.

Behind you, the viewer is the Pacific Ocean. Can you hear the waves crashing?
